Put a cork in it.

November 8, 2010

I’m not gonna lie, I am a big fan of wine.  There is just something about the whole experience.  The beautiful shape of the bottles, the pop of the cork, a long stemmed glass and of course the first sip.  Yum!  I’ve noticed a trend lately that it doesn’t matter if your home is traditional, contemporary or vintage cottage there are plenty of wine inspired options to make it cozy.

Corks can be used as vase fillers, place card holders or turned into an interesting cork board.  Anyone from a sophisticated wine connoisseur to the Trader Joes– Two Buck Chuck drinkers can appreciate the natural elements of the corks and wine bottles.

A simple wine rack with bottles make a beautiful almost sculpture like statement.  Feeling crafty?  Turn your old wine bottles into beautiful candle holders, reuse to serve as a pitcher for water at an afternoon luncheon or even make them into a chandelier like the one below from Pottery Barn.

Not a wine lover?  Don’t worry you can still enjoy the beauty of all that wine bottles, corks and even the barrel have to offer.  Here are a few of our favorite wine inspired items:

Corkscrew Prints by Barbara Cosgrove (I actually have these hanging in my kitchen)

Natural Wine Spheres from Bobo Intriguing Objects

Factory Wine Rack from Restoration Hardware

Wine Bottle Chandelier from Pottery Barn

Wine Barrel Chandelier from Bobo Intriguing Objects
