Before meets After

January 3, 2011

Happy New Year!!!!  December has been a very busy month at Barbour Spangle Design.  Lots of fun projects and of course the holiday breaks.  We are geared up and ready for a busy 2011!

Some of you may remember our blog about Market Trends:  Aqua and Lime that we posted after the spring High Point Furniture Market.  Barbour Spangle Design recently completed the Property Enhancement of the 2 Bedroom Apartment Model at Reserve at Forest Hills in Wilmington, NC.  This apartment was completely inspired by the Aqua and Lime blog.  Our client wanted an update model to appeal to the UNCW students that live in the development.  We incorporated blues and greens of the ocean without making the apartment “beachy”.  Here are before and afters of the project we recently completed with Blueridge Companies.

Colorful tile from Flor and a few colorful accessories brighten up the kitchen area.

Floating shelves in the corner of the dining area define the space while add architecture and interest.

Perk up your bathroom with multiple bathmats in a variety of shapes and colors.

Add patterned bed linens to spice up a room with beige walls that you can not paint.

If you have a smaller living space try armless chairs and a sofa with slim arms like we used above.  Just as much seating and comfort without all of the bulk of big curved arms.

Overwhelmed with finding all of the right furniture and accessories for your space?  Start with a plan and slowly add items to it until you are complete.  Buying things here and there when you can afford them will help you get the space of your dreams.
